In the doorway of a restaurant, a small girl with a fierce & mighty personality sits and screams as a crowd begins to gather.
Adults from all corners flock to see the carnage. Shrieking acoustics vibrate a distinct feature: Words, distinguishable words strung together with cohesiveness.
“I WANT MY CANDY!”
There was no hyperventilating, no uncontrollable crying.. This was a rouse!
Confusion sets inside the patrons minds, Pondering moments of ” Where is the blood?”, “Where is the broken bone?” Quickly Switch to ” Where are her parents?”.
A couple is close to her pleading and begging her to get off the floor. Bribing her with Treats, They have given into her tactics
,embarrassment clouds their vision, as they fail to recognize that she has Pulled the greatest scam.
The child receives the reward she seeked before throwing herself onto the floor and screaming.
This child is a creature of habit. Years of cause and effect playing out before our eyes. She has learned that the audience is what she really wants, the attention because if she gets their attention she gets her reward for negative behavior.
HOW TO SPOT A LITTLE NERO TANTRUM?
Can you Understand their words?
Cohesiveness in communication while crying sporadically?
Defiance?
* If your child is hyperventilating, and can not speak without taking large breaths,This is NOT a Tantrum.
The Amygdala is a section of the Brain that pertains to self control. When a child’s Amygdala has not fully developed they will have a hard time calming down, self soothing or even at times may have potty accidents.
REMEMBER : If your child is having a ” Little Nero Tantrum” make sure they are in a safe place and allow them to Have their One man show alone. They will realize they are not going to win that battle. Remember completely ignore their behavior, do not speak to them until they have calmed down.
